How to Keep a Concert Journal: Prompts, Examples, and a Short Template
Practical guide
Start a concert journal with one moment you want to keep
You do not have to write a full review after a concert or show. Keep the event name and date, one scene you remember, and your own response. Those details can help you find the memory later.
The entries below are fictional examples written by the editorial team, not accounts of real performances or artists.
Three notes to make on the way home
Start with what you do not want to forget rather than reconstructing the whole running order. If a title or someone’s words are uncertain, keep the part you remember without filling in the gaps.
- Write the event name, venue, and date as clues for later.
- Choose one moment: a sound, a change in the lights, or the first appearance on stage.
- Add one sentence about how you responded.
When your only words are “it was great”
To make an entry more specific, separate the scene from your response. Your journal does not have to match anyone else’s review.
- Which moment changed how you felt?
- What do you remember about the sound, movement, or audience?
- How did you feel before the show and on the way home?
- What is one thing you want your future self to remember?
Add the part a photo cannot show
A photo outside the venue or on the way home can hold a sentence about what was on your mind. An entry can also be just words.
Check the event’s rules about photography and sharing. Avoid including ticket codes or other people’s faces when you do not need them in your record.
A short concert or event journal template
Use the same pattern after a concert, a play, a livestream, or another performance. Skip any field that does not help you.
Keep the notes and photos in JotDiary
Save a thought as its own entry when it comes to you, then revisit it by date. Several moments from one day do not have to become one long review.
- Open a new entry using the create button on the timeline.
- Type the event name or another clue, followed by your own response.
- Choose a photo if you want one, check the date, and save using the checkmark.
- Confirm the entry on the timeline. Later, choose the date on the calendar to revisit it.
Questions about keeping event memories
Can this be just for me? Yes. Write to help yourself remember, without making a public report or covering every part of the event.
What if my memory is uncertain? Mark the gap rather than inventing exact words or a running order.
Can I keep separate diaries for different interests? Separate diaries and password lock require Premium. The app is free to download, with ads and in-app purchases. Check the app on your platform for current purchase details.
Does this manage tickets or collections? This guide uses diary text, photos, and dates. It does not describe dedicated ticket booking or inventory features.
